Area Supervisor

About the role

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe and secure environment, customer service, general merchandising, loss prevention, front end supervision and operations, and fitting rooms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone.
• Immediately correct or report any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
• Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
• Treat all Customers, Associates, and other leaders with respect.
• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Manage the line to expedite Customers wait time.
• Train and coach Associates on cash registers, shortage control policies and other Front End procedures.
• Ensure Associates are executing to Company standards at the Front End.
• Control Retail Associates' break schedule for backups, lunches and breaks.
• Maintain proper supplies and recovery for the Front End area.
• Ensure go backs are expedited, properly scanned, security tagged and ticketed.
• Teach all Associates the "Scan and Bag" best practice.
• Ensure salability of merchandise on the Front End, aisle tables, Men's/Women's 4-way features, and specialty racks.
• Maintain pace, energy and "presence" at the Front End.
• Remove clutter and ensure safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
• Test all fire alarm systems as scheduled.
• Respond to after-hours alarms when requested.
• Understand and comply with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and is responsible for Store Loss Prevention.
• Ensure Public View Monitor (PVM) system is maintained properly.
• Conduct "Code 50" package inspections.
• Ensure all Associates adhere to the Company Dress Code at all times.
• Keep all areas of the Store clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard.
• Process all merchandise with a sense of urgency.
• Ensure compliance to the monthly presentation guidelines in assigned area.
