About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role in the store leadership team, overseeing a specific area and managing the general operations and supervision of the store. This position is vital for maintaining a safe and secure environment, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring proper merchandise presentation and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by practicing safe behaviors and immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices.
- Ensure the security of the building, including controlling access, checking EAS devices, and managing cash office security.
- Manage customer safety by preventing accidents, reporting incidents, and following emergency procedures.
- Support the company's brand by representing and supporting the company's image and adhering to the company's dress code.
- Oversee general merchandising tasks such as recovery, sizing, markdowns, and ensuring compliance with monthly presentation guidelines.
- Execute loss prevention measures by maintaining a high level of customer service presence and adhering to the Loss Prevention Awareness Program.
- Supervise front-end operations, train associates, and manage the pace and efficiency of the checkout process.
- Manage fitting rooms, ensuring their cleanliness and compliance with company policies.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the store manager.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of the working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
