About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role in the store leadership team, overseeing a specific area and managing the general operations and supervision of the store. This position is vital for maintaining a safe, secure, and customer-friendly environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by practicing safe behaviors and immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices.
- Ensure the security of the building, including controlling access, managing EAS devices, and handling cash office security.
- Manage the customer service aspect of the store, treating all customers, associates, and leaders with respect and professionalism.
- Support the store's general merchandise operations by ensuring recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to company standards.
- Oversee the fitting rooms, ensuring their cleanliness and compliance with company policies.
- Execute company best practices and maximize productivity by minimizing steps and touches during front-end operations.
- Train and coach associates on cash register procedures and shortage control policies.
- Manage the store's administrative duties as assigned by the store manager.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
