About the Role
Boardwalk Pipelines is seeking an Area Supervisor / Area Manager for our Sulphur, Louisiana location. This role is responsible for leading operations and maintenance (O&M) personnel to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of company assets in accordance with regulatory standards and industry policies.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team overseeing terminal facilities, operations, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with DOT 192, DOT 195, EPA/DEQ, OSHA regulations, and inter-company policies.
- Manage the safe movement of products in and out of the terminal.
- Serve as the primary customer contact and continuously monitor equipment.
- Identify and report abnormal or safety-related operating conditions.
- Submit accident and near-miss reports and support emergency response activities.
- Develop and manage the operating budget.
- Ensure safe and reliable operation of compressor, pipeline, storage, corrosion, and measurement facilities.
- Drive effective and efficient workforce performance.
- Coordinate with Operations Support, Engineering, Construction, Gas Control, Legal, and ROW.
- Oversee employee development and training.
- Lead safety programs and emergency response efforts.
- Manage gas and liquid quality assurance and coordinate shutdowns.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and manage property owner issues.
- Network with emergency response agencies and support community efforts.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in the natural gas compression and storage industry.
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in the natural gas industry or equivalent.
- Familiarity with DOT 192 regulations and natural gas pipeline operations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and computer skills.
- Ability to read and implement O&M manuals, drawings, alignment sheets, and valve maps.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain relationships with governmental and customer counterparts.
- Self-motivation and strong commitment to personal and team safety.
- Ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously and work in extreme weather and noise conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Qualifications
- Leadership experience in Field Operations.
- 10+ years of pipeline operations and maintenance experience associated with underground storage facilities.
- 5+ years of reciprocating compressor and turbine operations and maintenance experience.
Education
- Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.
