About the role

The Regional Outreach Facilitator-East (ROF) serves as a key coordinator for the More in My Basket (MIMB) program in eastern North Carolina counties. The ROF collaborates with and supports Extension Agents in eight counties, organizes regional meetings, and facilitates outreach events to enhance community partnerships and improve access to nutrition assistance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and support Extension Agents in outreach efforts across eight counties.
  • Liaison with the MIMB campus-based team to share specialized needs and information.
  • Organize and conduct regional agent update meetings.
  • Engage with the MIMB program to identify and build partnerships with organizations serving low-resource audiences.
  • Facilitate SNAP eligibility screening and application completion assistance.
  • Support the delivery of outreach education and information to SNAP-eligible populations.
  • Contribute to the campus partnership database through regular reports.
  • Refer local clients to the campus team for FNS/SNAP benefit screenings and application completion assistance.
  • Collaborate with the MIMB program team to develop and implement outreach strategies.
  • Provide on-site support to county staff for outreach activities.
  • Facilitate program evaluation by assisting with curriculum evaluation during MIMB workshops.
  • Manage the ROF's participation in outreach events.
  • Work with county program staff and NCSU program staff to address programmatic issues.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field (Family and Consumer Sciences, Public Health, Sociology, Social work, etc.) or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of Extension, education-related, or industry-related experience in the area of specialization.
  • Demonstrated leadership and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with community-based organizations.
  • A commitment to excellence and the ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Proven personal effectiveness skills, including excellent interpersonal communication, team building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work extra hours and weekends.
  • Valid NC Driver's License required.

Preferences

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in team-oriented goal setting and implementation.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency.
  • Experience with programs serving low-income populations and consumers.
  • Experience with social media communications.
  • Good technical skills, including internet technology, Microsoft Office programs, and other relevant software.
