Area Service Operations Manager

The Area Operations Manager, Service role supports Siemens' Plymouth, MI branch, serving customers in the greater Detroit, MI area. Siemens aims to enable sustainable progress through technology, empowering customers by bridging the real and digital worlds. The role focuses on driving service and operational growth, ensuring consistent and high-quality service execution, and aligning with Siemens SI B standards.
Responsibilities
- Drive service and operational growth by meeting and/or exceeding quarterly and annual service revenue, gross margin, and operating margin commitments
- Lead end-to-end service execution, including project services and Service Agreements, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, cost, and quality expectations
- Plan, direct, and oversee service operations to support sustainable growth and long-term customer retention
- Monitor service and project performance to control costs, manage risk, and improve margin performance
- Partner with central Operations teams (PMO and Operations Excellence) to leverage standard tools, best practices, and shared capabilities
- Provide operational and technical support to Sales teams, including pricing guidance, scope definition, renewals, and lifecycle service strategy
- Lead workforce planning by hiring, developing, allocating, and performance-managing service resources to support current and future business needs
- Ensure balance sheet, cash flow, and working capital performance align with Siemens and SI B North Star expectations
- Maintain close alignment with Area General Management on service strategy, execution priorities, and market growth initiatives
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience leading service or operations organizations in a project-based, solutions, or service environment
- Financial acumen, including responsibility for service revenue, margin, cost control, and cash flow performance
- Experience partnering effectively with Sales, Project Management, and operations organizations
- Basic qualification: High School diploma or state-recognized GED, must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred)
- Technical and operational expertise relevant to service, lifecycle, and solutions-based delivery environments
- People leadership capability, including talent development and workforce planning
- Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship management and issue-resolution skills

Pay
The pay range for this position is $122,951 - $210,773 annually with a target incentive of 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
