Area Sales Representative

Entry-level outside sales role focused on finding and developing new accounts for Fairbanks Scales while supporting the existing customer base. Responsible for achieving annual sales goals within an assigned geography.

Responsibilities

• Communicate the benefits of Fairbanks Scales products to drive sales.
• Grow top-line revenue within an assigned territory.
• Work closely with the Area Sales Manager and Service team to support existing customers and identify new opportunities.
• Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments.
• Administer quotes for Maintenance Contracts.
• Learn and maintain strong knowledge of the Industrial Product Catalog and simple "out-of-the-catalog" products.
• Maintain Contacts, Opportunities, Quotes, and Orders within the CRM system.
• Make cold calls within the assigned territory.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree in business or a related field (preferred).
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record per company and insurance policies; must pass a driving physical.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels.

Work Environment

• General office conditions with moderate noise levels.
• Regular in-office work involving customer contact via phone and email.
• Frequent face-to-face customer visits at industrial, construction, agricultural, and other sites, which may be indoors or outdoors with varying noise, temperature, and terrain conditions.
• Daily vehicle travel required to meet with current and prospective customers.
• Occasional air and overnight travel (up to 30%) for trade shows, training, or job site visits.

Physical Abilities

• Close vision and ability to focus required.
• Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, bend, and walk.
• Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movement for typing and computer work.
• Finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination for computer, telephone, and office equipment use.
• Regular attendance is essential.
