Area Sales Manager
Western Funding, a dynamic and fast-growing auto finance company and subsidiary of Westlake Financial Services, provides automobile financing to borrowers with limited access to traditional credit. Our Area Sales Managers assist current and future dealer partners in selling more cars and trucks by financing more customers.
About the role
As the face of the company to our dealers, the Area Sales Manager increases the number of funded deals by partnering with dealers who are a good fit. This role enables growth by identifying, onboarding, and managing dealers in a local region using a consultative sales and management approach. Strong relationships with dealers who understand how the program can help their business grow are key to success. This is a full-time, remote position requiring significant travel.
Responsibilities
- Present and communicate company products and services to all levels of management within Independent and Franchise Dealerships in person.
- Identify sales prospects and contact assigned accounts.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals from telephone calls for Independent and Franchise dealers.
- Develop, maintain, and grow current and potential dealer partners within the Independent and Franchise Dealer communities.
- Maintain constant and effective communication with dealer partners via phone or in-person visits regarding current programs.
- Train dealers on Western Funding processes, including proper documentation needed for fast funding of contracts.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- High School diploma or equivalent (required).
- College degree or equivalent work experience (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Automotive, Finance, and Sales.
- Previous experience in the Financial Services Sector or within a Car Dealership.
- 1-2 years of experience in a challenging sales role with a proven track record of success.
- Clear and effective presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of warm calling, appointment setting, and sales techniques.
- Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technology.
- Results-oriented with the ability to align actions with company objectives.
- Able to work independently and in a team.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.
- Comfortable traveling up to 75% of the time to visit auto dealers.
Pay
Guaranteed compensation of $5,000 per month during the first 12 months of employment, including a base salary of $1,500 per month plus guaranteed commissions of $3,500 per month. After the first year, compensation is uncapped with unlimited earning potential.
- Average first-year total compensation range: $60,000 – $125,000 annually.
- Average annual earnings after the first year: approximately $79,000.
- Average annual earnings for the top 10 representatives: approximately $125,000.
- Monthly mileage reimbursement: average of $450/month.
The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
