Lead and grow all aspects of aggregate production in the Richmond area, managing safety, production, and support functions to ensure effective execution of performance and growth strategy.
Responsibilities
- Cultivates a positive safety culture by championing Guardian Angel and Wing Man principles and philosophy; builds individual accountability and recognition into safety approach.
- Ensures daily coordination between production, delivery, distribution, and quality control.
- Directs production activities to ensure strict adherence to cost and quality standards; takes immediate corrective action when deficiencies are noted; achieves production targets as directed by VP/GM.
- Provides leadership to maximize production, working closely with Sales Manager to exceed customer expectations, ensure product quality, and drive maximum profitability.
- Provides direction to Plant Managers to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
- Builds effective teams and develops direct reports for future opportunities.
- Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations for all personnel under supervision.
- Ensures company safety rules and regulations are met through periodic inspections of plant machinery, equipment, personal activities, and working conditions.
- Drives operational and safety performance through continuous improvement initiatives that meet or exceed company and regional goals.
- Develops and nurtures empowerment in all phases of the operation.
- Oversees month-end inventories.
- Directs the selection, training, and development of production personnel; appraises performance of subordinates and takes/recommends appropriate personnel actions as necessary.
- Recommends management development and necessary training programs for all direct reports.
- Purchases or directs the purchase of supplies and equipment in accordance with company policy; recommends or changes vendors to reduce maintenance costs.
- Implements and reviews ongoing contracts, purchase orders, appropriations, and expenditure requests.
- Coordinates with VP/GM on staffing needed to operate the plants properly and safely; coordinates these needs with the Human Resources Department with attention to labor law compliance.
- Assists with profit plans, CER’s, market analyses, and special reports for approval by the VP/GM.
- Maintains operational security.
- Develops an environment of empowerment and teamwork.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.E.) in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or other related discipline strongly preferred and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ten (10) or more years’ experience in aggregates, operations preferred.
- Five (5) years’ supervisory or management experience in an aggregate or similar industrial environment.

Pay
The hiring range for this position is $135,000 - $165,000 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience.
