Area Manager, SSD

About the role

Our Worldwide Operations network delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. As an Area Manager, you will lead a team of hourly employees, engaging them during shifts to maintain high levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will ensure customer orders are delivered on time and to the right location. Our operations workflow includes:

• First mile – where the product is housed and ready for order.
• Middle mile – where the order is transported to your area.
• Last mile – when the product is delivered to the customer’s door.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your team.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
• Collaborate with support teams (Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, Human Resources) to meet business objectives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and perform physical tasks (push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs).
• Work in variable environments (noise levels, temperatures, weather; may include refrigerated or outdoor areas).
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or overnight shifts.

Requirements

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.

Pay

Base salary range: $70,000.00 – $90,900.00 USD annually (Bethlehem, PA). Final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
