Area Manager - SBSC
About the role

As an Area Manager for OnTrac, you will report directly to the Operations Manager of the facility and be responsible for managing all the sort activities and volume within an assigned area. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing change to enhance business outcomes within the operation.
Responsibilities
- Manage, staff and schedule a team of Package Handlers and Lead Package Handlers in an assigned area in the facility to ensure quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
- Maintain an open line of communication to engage employees.
- Record and manage the departures/arrivals of and the flow of volume from designated Linehauls.
- Execute various administrative duties, including but not limited to, safety training, operational audits, and end of shift reporting.
Requirements
- GED/Diploma required, BA/BS college degree in related discipline preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of industry experience – (ex. logistics, shipping, 3PL) with at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience.
- Ability to effectively evaluate and summarize data and present answers to questions.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office and mathematical skills.
- Effective communication skills including the ability to give honest, constructive feedback.
- Experience with hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations for employees.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of industry experience – (ex. logistics, shipping, 3PL).
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements in daily work practices.
- Flexibility to support 24-hour operations, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays when needed.
- Dependability and adaptability as business needs, staffing needs, and workload shifts change.

Pay
The expected starting base pay range for this position is $59,840 - $74,800, with full potential base salary range over a successful candidate’s tenure in the position of $59,840- $89,760. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
Schedule
Shift(s): Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday PM Shift (Schedule subject to change based on the needs of the business)
