Area Manager, Prosthetics (DENVER / CO / KS / MO)
About the role
This is a role where you close a deal and someone walks out of a clinic on a new leg. Ossur makes devices that give people their mobility back, and this territory has real upside for the right person. The previous rep was promoted. The accounts are warm. The products are new and clinically compelling. If you are a sharp, hungry B2B seller who wants your work to mean something, keep reading.
Responsibilities
- You are not selling a commodity. Ossur's Proflex Terra and Navi microprocessor knee, both launched within the last 18 months, carry a strong clinical wow factor.
- The real skill here is selling on clinical outcomes to prosthetists and on business outcomes to practice owners, at the same time, in the same conversation. That takes a sharp, curious mind and the ability to ask questions most reps never think to ask.
- Denver is the preferred base given customer concentration across the territory. It is a high-touch business, and showing up consistently is what builds the relationships that drive revenue.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in life sciences or a business-related field.
- Two to three years of consistent B2B field sales success.
- A clear answer to the question: why do you want this role?
- Comfortable with 60% travel, including 2 to 3 overnight stays per week.
Qualifications
- No medical background required. The best performers came from solution and challenger-style sales backgrounds.
- Backgrounds that have translated well: copier sales, ADP or payroll, software and SaaS, dental sales, and rehabilitative device sales.
Skills
- Curious, coachable, accountable, purpose-driven motivation, direct communication, and a business mindset.
Benefits
- Mileage reimbursement via Cardata
- Compensation: Base Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 On-Target Earnings: $118,000 - $133,000 Uncapped commission, paid quarterly
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits
- 401(k) with employer matching
- 9 paid holidays plus paid parental bonding leave
Pay
Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
This role carries 60% travel, roughly 2.5 to 3 nights per week. George is upfront about that because he wants candidates to self-select based on what actually works for their life. If the schedule fits, the territory rewards the effort.
