Area Manager

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.

• Maintain safe working conditions and practices.
• Operate the facility in a manner that is consistent and in compliance with all federal and state regulations, i.e. OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, etc.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in a Manufacturing or Engineering related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Eight to ten years of manufacturing operations experience and management experience, preferably in a highly environmentally regulated pyro-metallurgical or material processing-based businesses.
• Prior experience with unionization is preferred.
• Lear or Six Sigma training is strongly preferred.
• Intermediate computer knowledge in Windows environment including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with good interpersonal skills.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
