Area Manager

About the role

The Area Manager for Chewy’s Belton, MO Fulfillment Center leads the team in ensuring accurate product receiving, storage, and shipping. The role involves setting and enforcing standards, providing training, and maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle fast-paced operations in a dynamic e-commerce distribution environment
• Ensure adherence to established productivity, labor, and quality objectives
• Establish and enforce standards for hourly associates
• Accurately unload and store containers, returning them without additional charges and ensuring 100% accuracy
• Provide orientation and training to hourly associates, verifying understanding and compliance
• Monitor employee activities, offering assessments and encouragement, focusing on safety, quality, metrics, and demeanor
• Drive standards through daily interaction, motivating, guiding, and holding associates accountable to known standards
• Develop and maintain open lines of communication to foster positive employee relations and encourage participation
• Recognize employees for their accomplishments and ideas
• Complete required documentation for attendance, efficiency, behavior, and safety
• Investigate processes and drive improvements through associate feedback, data analysis, and up-channeling changes

Requirements

• Associate Degree (Bachelors’ degree preferred)
• 2-4 years’ supervisory experience, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication and strong attention to detail
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and timekeeping software
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as needed

Bonus

• Bilingual in Spanish (a plus)

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
