Area Manager

Chewy is seeking an Area Manager for our Salisbury, NC Fulfillment Center to lead hourly associates in accurate receiving, storage, and shipping of product while meeting productivity, labor, and quality objectives.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day operations in a fast-paced e-commerce distribution environment while maintaining a positive, motivating leadership presence
• Establish and uphold operational standards
• Lead teams to ensure accurate unloading and put-away of containers on a timely basis to avoid additional charges and maintain 100% accuracy
• Oversee orientation and training of hourly associates, verifying adherence to standards
• Assess and acknowledge employee performance in safety, work quality, metrics, and demeanor
• Address employee questions and concerns to foster a positive work environment and build trust
• Drive standards through motivation, guidance, accountability, and positive reinforcement
• Promote open communication, employee involvement, and recognition of accomplishments and ideas
• Complete required documentation for tracking attendance, efficiency, behavior, and safety
• Investigate processes, drive improvements through associate feedback and data analysis, and escalate changes to meet departmental goals

Requirements

• Associate Degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• 2-4 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and timekeeping software
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as business needs require
• Position may require travel
