About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Area Manager to join our team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in enhancing our customers' beauty experiences by leading your team to provide exceptional service, in-depth product knowledge, and expert beauty advice. You will drive sales and optimize customer service while building relationships. You will serve as the Store Manager in your home store and also as a multi-unit leader for several other nearby stores.

The Temporary Area Manager will perform the same functions and have the same responsibilities as a regular Area Manager, just on a temporary basis.

Responsibilities

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Facilitate consistent team and individual communication to ensure collective knowledge across the team and central business partners.
  • Inspire your team by sharing the brand vision and business challenges, empowering them while holding them accountable to the highest standards.
  • Lead by example, exemplifying our client-first service model in all interactions and hyper-personalizing your approach to building relationships.
  • Drive results by assisting clients to find the right products, demonstrating best practices, and nurturing client loyalty.
  • Analyze business performance, develop strategies to drive KPI success, delegate tasks, and celebrate progress toward goals.
  • Create and execute store-level event strategies to drive incremental sales.
  • Train and develop your team using coaching skills, empathy, performance management, and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Actively recruit top performers, build relationships in your area, and plan for a talent bench, including succession planning.
  • Execute all operational tasks with proficiency, advocate for knowledge-sharing, and support effective scheduling, inventory control, cost minimization, and profitability.

Client-Facing Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, personalized relationships with customers, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of beauty products across skincare, makeup, haircare, and fragrances, staying updated on the latest trends.
  • Offer tailored product recommendations based on individual client needs, preferences, and skin types.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and provide application tips to enhance customer experience and achieve sales goals.
  • Drive sales through effective communication of product benefits and promotions, encouraging repeat business through loyalty programs and events.
  • Support inventory management by ensuring product availability and maintaining an organized, visually appealing store environment.
  • Participate in and occasionally lead in-store beauty workshops, sharing expertise and tips with customers.
  • Collect customer feedback on products and services, providing insights to the management team for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Passion for beauty and staying updated with the latest trends and products.
  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, Saturdays, and holidays.

  • Resourcefulness and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • 2-3 years of retail management experience required; beauty industry preferred.
  • Advanced authority and expertise in successful retail team leadership.
  • Ability to efficiently travel between locations on a weekly basis.
  • Time management excellence to manage competing priorities, teams, and locations.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing/walking around the store or department.
  • Prolonged exposure to fragrance and home fragrance products.
  • Frequent use of computers, handheld electronic equipment, and cash registers.
  • Reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and color vision.
  • Lifting and moving items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Use of public transportation or driving to multiple locations.

Reporting & Location

This role reports to the District Manager in your region. It is performed in your home store and in several other locations where you have supervisory responsibilities. This is a management position with multiple store managers and other hourly employees as direct reports.
