Area Manager

About the role

We are looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals to join our team as an Area Manager in Amazon’s Worldwide Operations network. In this role, you will lead a team of hourly employees, ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance while maintaining customer expectations for timely and accurate order delivery.

Our operations workflow includes three major components: First mile (product storage and order readiness), Middle mile (transporting orders to your area), and Last mile (delivering products to the customer’s door). While workflows may vary slightly by location, our commitment to customer satisfaction remains constant.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your team to achieve performance goals.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with support teams (Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, Human Resources) to develop and execute business plans.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 49 pounds, standing/walking for shifts up to 12 hours, and frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs.
• Work in variable environments with fluctuating noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions (including outdoor loading areas and refrigerated spaces).
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in employee and performance management.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.

Pay

Base salary range: $70,000 – $90,900 USD annually (location: USA, IL, Sauget).
