Job Description
The Area Manager oversees janitorial staff at assigned sites, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to budget constraints. Key responsibilities include:
- Select and place janitorial personnel; conduct hiring decisions, performance appraisals, and career development plans.
- Assign duties and tasks, inspect work, and ensure quality service.
- Determine work procedures, prepare schedules, and manage labor budgets.
- Create orientation and training programs, and handle employee relations and conflicts.
- Document customer contacts and concerns, and monitor work order opportunities.
- Support customer satisfaction by visiting accounts regularly and resolving issues promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two (2) years of management experience in a service-related industry, preferably janitorial.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred but not required.
- Prior cleaning or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards is preferred but not required.
- Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required.
