Area Manager

Job Description

The Area Manager oversees janitorial staff at assigned sites, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to budget constraints. Key responsibilities include:

• Select and place janitorial personnel; conduct hiring decisions, performance appraisals, and career development plans.
• Assign duties and tasks, inspect work, and ensure quality service.
• Determine work procedures, prepare schedules, and manage labor budgets.
• Create orientation and training programs, and handle employee relations and conflicts.
• Document customer contacts and concerns, and monitor work order opportunities.
• Support customer satisfaction by visiting accounts regularly and resolving issues promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of management experience in a service-related industry, preferably janitorial.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred but not required.
• Prior cleaning or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards is preferred but not required.
• Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required.
