Architecture and Construction (Trades - HVAC)
The High School CTE HVAC Program prepares students for careers in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration through hands-on training and industry-based instruction. Students learn essential skills in system installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, electrical components, safety procedures, and energy efficiency practices. They also develop problem-solving, technical, and customer service skills.
Qualifications
- Possess or be willing to obtain the NJDOE CTE Instructional Certificate with appropriate endorsement.
- Possess a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field or have 4 years (8,000 hours) of relevant employment history.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
Skills
Skills developed through the program include system installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, electrical components, safety procedures, and energy efficiency practices. Problem-solving, technical, and customer service skills are also emphasized.
Benefits
