Architectural Specifications Writer - Remote (LSNA-PA/OH/IN/NC)

About the role
We are looking for a driven, well-organized Architectural Specifications Writer (Remote or Hybrid) to develop project specifications and provide technical advice to architecture teams throughout the design and construction process. You will work on large-scale, technically complex, multi-phase projects, specifying both interiors and exteriors, and act as a resource connecting teams with manufacturers and assisting with product and system research.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project specifications for architectural projects.
- Provide technical advice to architecture teams during design and construction.
- Support architectural teams on Life Sciences projects, particularly pharmaceutical manufacturing, from design through construction.
- Coordinate within a multi-disciplinary team structure, including virtual engagement with geographically dispersed members.
- Develop and maintain relationships with product representatives.
- Assist teams with product and system research.
- Respond to RFIs and review submittals during construction administration.
- Contribute to the development of new ideas, techniques, and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Architecture school.
- Minimum of 10 years of applicable professional experience, with at least 5 years in specifications development.
- Focus on Life Sciences projects, specifically pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Technical knowledge of construction detailing and constructability.
- Command of building codes and other regulatory requirements.
- Experience assisting with construction administration activities.
- Ability to coordinate within a multi-disciplinary team, including virtual collaboration.
- Proficiency with MS Teams, MS Office (OneNote, Word, Excel), and Bluebeam Revu.
- United States citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards and cGMP requirements.
- Experience with Deltek AIA MasterSpec.
- Experience with LEED and/or other sustainable certification systems.
- Professional architecture degree.
- Registered Architect with current license.
- Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, and Revizto.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid environment (minimum 2 days per week in the office).
- LEED AP or Green Associate credential.
- CSI CDT or CCS certification.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and work independently or collaboratively.
- Strong interpersonal skills (speaking, writing, listening).
- Involvement in professional and/or community associations.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $110,600.00 to $185,000.00. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
