Under the direction of the Lab Director, Lab Assistants perform tasks integral to the processing and management of archaeological collections generated by Survey projects.
Responsibilities
- Washing and sorting artifacts
- Processing floatation
- Cataloging collections
- Preparing collections for accession
- Analyzing artifacts as needed
- Water screening
- Preservation efforts
- Assisting with paperwork and/or database management
- Cleaning and other survey-related duties and activities
All Lab Assistants will receive training to perform these tasks as they arise.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in the Fall Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma (hiring contingent upon verification of current student status)
Department Preferences
- Year in academic program (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior)
- Anticipated graduation semester/year
- Brief cover letter
- Copy of Fall 2026 course schedule
Pay
Targeted salary of $12.00 per hour based on education and experience.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
