About the role
The Aquatics Director position at Stewie the Duck Swim School will oversee management of the team, the facility, safety and customer service as they relate to the aquatics program. This role will work closely with the General Manager to help shape the swim school and to run a smooth, fun and safe operation. This is an exciting position as it will help create the school’s infrastructure, including curriculum development, hiring, training, scheduling, developing culture, and ensuring an exceptional swim experience.
Role Summary

Role Requirements & Leadership Responsibilities
- 5+ years’ experience teaching children’s swim lessons and managing an aquatic facility.
- Exceptional customer service and leadership development skills.
- Pump room working knowledge for routine maintenance.
- Foster a strong sense of community for customers and team members.
- Be a hands-on enthusiastic leader and role model.
- Represent the Philosophy of Stewie the Duck Swim School.
- Create a positive and FUN learning environment.
- Lift 40 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Be prepared to administer first aid in the event of injury or emergency.
- Keep current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and WSI.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) (Preferred).
- Teach or be on deck 20-25 hours a week.
- Experience with iClassPro and Microsoft Office software.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Ensure all procedures and paperwork are completed as it pertains to student progress, skill trees, move ups and coordinate the record keeping and communication of such with the General Manager.
- Ensure team members are completing and submitting the daily reports.
- Coordinate with the General Manager to submit the weekly reports.
- Review program metrics with the General Manager.
- Communicate with General Manager about changes needed in the schedule.
- Coordinate with General Manager to conduct formal teacher evaluations semi annually.
- Ensure all staff members complete required E-learnings, trainings and certifications.
- Keep swim instructor and lifeguard certification records and ensure they are current.
- Help coordinate and attend special events and programs.
- Order/notify General Manager of equipment needs.
- Provide front desk with any updated/new forms as needed.
Staff Management
- Coordinate with the General Manager for the hiring of all swim staff. Assist with all training.
- Supervise all team members.
- Maintain and coordinate subs to ensure shift coverage as needed.
- Ensure pre/post-shift meetings are conducted.
- Ensure teachers adhere to Stewie the Duck Swim School procedures, curriculum and methods as referenced in trainings.
- Coordinate with the General Manager to organize and schedule new teacher trainings as well as continued in-service for team.
- Ongoing availability and communication with all team members.
- Schedule evaluations for team members.
- Monitor lessons.
- Print and update rosters for each session.
- Update curriculum as needed.
- Update class schedules as needed.
Facility
- Educate and enforce safety rules. Strive to prevent accidents, maintain discipline.
- Ensure a clean and safe pool environment for clients, staff, and the public.
- Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly pool area cleaning & maintenance.
- Ensure the water chemistry, equipment and chemicals are monitored and documented completely.

Pay
Salary Range: $60,000 annually
Compensation: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
