Aquatics Director

About the role

The YMCA of the Jersey Shore is seeking a dynamic and experienced Aquatics Director for its Red Bank Family YMCA. This position involves overseeing the swim lesson program, from fiscal responsibility to staffing and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, plan, staff, supervise and deliver all Aquatics-related programs that bring the joy of swimming to children and adults using the YMCA Swim Lessons Curriculum.
• Be the principal contact for parents and participants for the YMCA swim lessons and aquatics certification programs.
• Create the lesson schedule, deliver and manage swim lesson programs in the YMCA's CRM database (Daxko).
• Instruct lessons and classes as well as conduct monthly in-service trainings.
• Represent The YMCA of the Jersey Shore by displaying a positive attitude, maintaining a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job through the four character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Current American Red Cross lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED and oxygen administration certifications
• YMCA Swim Lesson V.6 Instructor Certification, within 90 days of employment
• Demonstrated ability to assist children and others in the development of swimming skills
• Ability to teach skills to others
• Online Child Abuse Prevention prior to start date, Blood Borne Pathogens and Unlawful Harassment Prevention training within 30 days
• YMCA of the Jersey Shore New Team Member Orientation within 90 days
• Ability to maintain certification level of physical and mental readiness
• CPO and Pool Operator preferred, or obtained within six months
• Ability to work evenings, and weekends
