Part-time adjunct position located in the new Clauson Center for Innovation and Skilled Trades on the Arnold campus. This position requires some regular in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations, depending on business needs.
About the Role
Instructor is responsible for classroom and lab instruction in Electrical, HVAC, Low Voltage, or Plumbing trade. The instructor will follow the provided curriculum outline and learning expectations, with content housed in Canvas (online learning platform). Prior teaching experience is not required, but expertise in the trade and the ability to effectively manage a classroom are essential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare materials needed for course instruction, labs, testing, and supplies.
- Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools utilized.
- Familiarize with and apply the NEC code book as appropriate.
- Relate instruction and material to course objectives.
- Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal safety, and power/hand tool safety.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, other faculty, and staff.
- Submit grades, attendance, reports, and records in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Journeyman/Master license or Journeyman level of knowledge in Electrical, HVAC, Low Voltage, or Plumbing trade.
- Safety awareness and knowledge of the NEC Code book as appropriate.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, terminology, tools, and equipment used in the trade.
- Some computer experience (Canvas or similar online learning platforms).
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Evenings and weekends; varies based on business needs.
