Electrical Apprentice Instructor
About the role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor to support the education and development of electrical apprentices. This full-time role is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and hands-on instruction, supporting apprentice success, and ensuring training aligns with industry standards and apprenticeship requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to apprentices and instructors to support skill development, performance, and professional growth
- Lead and oversee instructional staff, ensuring consistent delivery of curriculum, training standards, and classroom effectiveness
- Deliver classroom instruction covering electrical theory, code, safety, and best practices
- Provide hands-on training and demonstrations aligned with curriculum standards
- Support apprentices in developing technical skills and professional work habits
- Track attendance, progress, and completion of required coursework
- Prepare apprentices for assessments, certifications, and on-the-job success
- Maintain compliance with apprenticeship, safety, and training requirements
- Collaborate with apprenticeship, field, and training leadership to continuously improve program outcomes
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician
- Instructor certifications required (NCCER, OSHA, or equivalent), or willingness to obtain paid by Company
- Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience (formal or informal)
- Strong working knowledge of the NEC and industry standards
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse learners
- Commitment to safety, quality, and workforce development
- Basic computer skills for reporting, documentation, and communication
Skills

Schedule
Sedentary: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain a stationary position over 75% of the time, frequently communicates with internal and external contacts, and must be able to exchange accurate information. The employee is occasionally required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and handle up to 20 pounds (files or office supplies).
