Apprentice - Maintenance Mechanic

About the role
As a Maintenance Apprentice on the team, you will be enrolled in a Maintenance program to learn the tools and skills necessary to become a highly proficient Skilled Trades Maintenance Mechanic. Throughout this program, you will assist Facilities and Manufacturing Maintenance personnel with equipment troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and installation. The Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the facilities and manufacturing equipment in the plants at the Ada complex for valued customers. The department comprises over 60 highly qualified Skilled Trades employees, and the equipment they maintain is integral to the successful operations of the facilities and manufacturing organizations. The manufacturing range includes nutritional and cosmetics products, personal care items, and blow‑molded bottles used to package products.
Responsibilities
- Assist with equipment troubleshooting
- Perform repairs
- Conduct preventive maintenance
- Support installation of equipment
Qualifications
- High School diploma with at least one year of Algebra
- Valid driver’s license

Pay
$25.00/hr
Schedule
- Complete 8,000 hours of on‑the‑job training plus Related Technical Instruction (RTI) through Grand Rapids Community College
- Upon successful completion, assigned to either 2nd or 3rd shift based on department needs
- Minimum of half of time on 1st shift (7
