About the role
The incumbent must hold a valid license and be able to stand an engineer's watch. They will repair machinery and perform various tasks including:
- Examining machines and diagnosing issues
- Dismantling and fitting parts
- Replacing broken parts
- Preparing specifications for repairs
- Reassembling machines and adjusting them
Additionally, they will perform carpentry duties such as framing, finishing, painting, and installing wooden fixtures.
Responsibilities
Essential job duties include:
- Using hand and power tools
- Responding to emergencies
- Inspecting and diagnosing problems
- Performing preventive and on-call maintenance
- Supporting and assisting other staff members
- Adhering to safety and operational policies
- Working overtime as needed
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
Mandatory qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Rounded training and experience through apprenticeship or equivalent
- Familiarity with basic math functions
- Able to work a rotating schedule
- Good manual dexterity and tool proficiency
- Professional and courteous interpersonal skills
- Mature judgment and minimal supervision ability
- Ability to pass a background and drug screen
- U.S. citizenship
- Clearance for intelligence community level work
- Valid driver's license with a good record
Preferred qualifications:
- Trade certifications in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
- Competency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist in lifting up to 75 pounds.
