Apprentice Diesel Technician
About the role
The Apprentice Diesel Technician is an entry-level role focused on developing the skills needed to become a fully qualified Diesel Technician. You'll gain hands-on experience working on heavy-duty trucks while learning directly from experienced technicians. This role is designed to grow into a Diesel Technician position within 12 years.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, filters, belts, hoses)
- Assist with engine, brake, and drivetrain repairs
- Support basic electrical work (batteries, lights, starters, alternators)
- Inspect vehicles and report findings to senior technicians
- Aid with diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Follow shop procedures and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Accurately document work performed
Requirements
- 02 years of mechanical experience or trade/technical school training
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic tool set (minimum requirements apply)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a team environment
