About the role
The Missouri Judiciary is seeking an Apprentice Court Clerk to perform entry-level duties in a court utilizing an electronic filing system.
Responsibilities
- Receive and initiate case files; review and process legal documents according to court rules.
- Prepare warrants, summonses, garnishments, and executions; set bonds and handle docket control.
- Disburse monies, reconcile financial accounts, and prepare financial reports.
- Prepare and queue electronically filed proceedings for processing.
- Handle evidence and testimony that may be disturbing, such as photographs of violent scenes and victims, and/or sexually explicit material; understand and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from an institution of higher learning.
- Additional experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Must have the ability to comprehend court procedures, legal documents, laws, and legal factors pertaining to the court.
- Must gain working knowledge of the organization's operations, functions, and scope of authority.
- Must be able to work independently, manage a high-volume workload, and handle frequently changing priorities and high-stress environments.
- Must exercise good judgment and make independent decisions in accordance with general policy and objectives.
- Must maintain a variety of complex records and prepare reports from an automated system.

Pay
