About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are ready to advance their career within the automotive industry. The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time and earn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment.

Responsibilities

  • Based within the garage workshop
  • Involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.
  • Examples of the units covered include: Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
  • Inspection of light vehicles
  • Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components
  • Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines and component faults
  • Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
  • Contributing to workplace good housekeeping

Qualifications or qualities required

  • GCSE Level or above in Maths, English and a Science or Technical subject or equivalent
  • We are looking for candidates who want to kickstart their career in the automotive industry and who are keen to learn
  • Dedicated and have a proactive approach to your work and learning
  • Able to prioritize and work to timelines
  • A willingness to work in a practical environment using your own initiative

Personal qualities required

  • A full UK Driving licence is not essential but preferred
