GTG Training is recruiting for an Apprentice Autocare Technician on behalf of an independent garage in Kent. This is a full-time opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining an IMI automotive qualification through a Modern Apprenticeship Programme.
About the role
As an apprentice, you will work full-time in a garage workshop while attending block-release training at GTG Wolverhampton. Regular assessments and reviews will be conducted in your workplace to ensure you develop the skills needed to complete your apprenticeship successfully.
You will train toward either a Level 2 Autocare Technician or Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician qualification.
Responsibilities
- Learn all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including servicing, MOT preparation, and component overhaul.
- Remove, replace, and diagnose faults in major vehicle components and electrical systems.
- Cover units such as:
- Materials, fabrication, tools, and measuring devices used in automotive environments.
- Inspection of light vehicles.
- Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units, engine components, and faults.
- Maintaining health and safety standards.
- Contributing to workplace housekeeping.
Requirements
- GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and a Science or Technical subject.
- Enthusiasm for starting a career in the automotive industry.
- Dedication, a proactive approach to work and learning, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Willingness to work in a practical environment and use initiative.
A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
