About the Role
Construct, build, and maintain overhead and underground electric facilities with primary voltages ranging up to 15KV.
Responsibilities
- Installation, removal, and maintenance of overhead/underground primary line facilities and secondary services.
- Installation of overhead/underground transformers and wiring of all types of transformer banks.
- Installation and wiring of regulators, capacitors, and reclosers.
- Operation of various trucks (including Aerial Bucket and Digger Derrick Trucks) and equipment.
- Reading and understanding job prints and sketches.
- Recognizing materials and their functions.
- Setting and climbing all sizes of poles in open areas, rear alleys, and energized lines.
- Availability for on-call duty and emergency response.
- Performing basic computer tasks (e.g., time entry, email, training).
- Communicating effectively and working as part of a team.
Requirements
- Must live within 20 miles of the work location (Little Rock, Arkansas).
- Ability to use physical strength to perform tasks in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work irregular hours and out-of-town assignments as required.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow directives with limited supervision.
- Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Willingness to attend and participate in safety meetings.
- Capability to assume supervisory responsibilities when needed.
Qualifications
- Apprentice 1st Year: Completion of an accredited Lineworker Training program OR prior demonstrated linework experience.
- Apprentice 2nd Year: Must have been an Apprentice 1st Year for at least 6 months and completed a minimum of 6 months of demonstrated linework experience.
- Apprentice 3rd Year: Must have been an Apprentice 2nd Year for at least 6 months and completed a minimum of 1.5 years of demonstrated linework experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to traverse uneven terrain with tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work in extreme weather (heat, cold) and confined spaces.
- Perform physical tasks including digging, pulling, pushing, carrying, and lifting up to 115 pounds.
- Work at heights for extended periods, including from bucket trucks and on poles/structures.
- Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, grip, handle, and feel.
- Perform emergency rescue operations, including bringing an unconscious or injured coworker down from heights.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work up to 16 continuous hours per day and manage stress in tense situations.
- Regular and reliable attendance, with ability to work overtime as necessary.
- Pass a pre-employment Fitness for Duty exam.
Additional Information
Travel up to 25% may be required. Authorization to work in the United States is required; Entergy will not sponsor work visas for this position.
