Appointment Companion (CNA Certified Nurses Aide)

About the role

We are looking for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to pick up per diem resident appointment shifts. CNAs are also welcome to pick up floor shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking, and wheelchair use.
• Position residents in and out of bed.
• Document personal care according to facility policies.
• Perform nursing functions as directed, including perineal care, making beds, turning residents, and measuring/recording temperature, weight, pulse, and respiration.
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition, including skin breakdowns, to supervisors.
• Report all accidents or injuries immediately.
• Record all necessary charting entries.
• Answer call lights regardless of assignment.
• Respond to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
• No history of patient/resident abuse as per State Registry.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and following oral and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward residents and their support networks.

Additional Expectations

Per diem staff are expected to fulfill (2) weekend shifts monthly to meet requirements.

Pay

Competitive rates starting at $21.22/hour.
