Applications Support Sr Analyst - Asst Vice President

This platform supports real-time financial decisions, data integrity, and critical business operations for Ultra High Net Worth clients across Citi Private Bank, Citi Gold, and Wealth at Work.
About the role
The Apps Support Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional who applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge to improve processes and workflows. This role requires evaluating complex issues, balancing conflicting situations, and making decisions based on multiple sources of information. The successful candidate will assume leadership within teams, coach new recruits, and significantly impact project outcomes by influencing decisions through advice and counsel.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and business support for Citi Applications, including quick resolutions to app issues and driving stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements.
- Maintain and support application systems post-development, focusing on stability, quality, and functionality against service level expectations.
- Perform start-of-day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover.
- Conduct same-day risk reconciliations.
- Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
- Maximize the potential of applications through assessments and enhancements.
- Assess risk and impact of production issues, escalating to business and technology management as needed.
- Ensure storage and archiving procedures are in place and functioning correctly.
- Formulate and define scope for complex application enhancements and problem resolution.
- Review and develop application contingency planning to ensure availability.
- Partner with development and production support teams to prioritize bug fixes and tooling requirements.
- Participate in application releases, from development and testing to deployment.
- Engage in post-implementation analysis to ensure successful system design and functionality.
- Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues; communicate their impact.
- Define operating standards and processes, ensuring essential procedures are followed.
- Act as a liaison between users, traders, internal technology groups, and vendors.
- Raise problems to appropriate teams while adhering to Service Level Agreements.
- Provide evaluative judgment in complex and unique situations.
- Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, applying sound ethical judgment.
- Lead Support Project items, covering Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in an Application Support role.
- Experience installing, configuring, or supporting business applications.
- Willingness and ability to learn programming languages.
- Advanced execution capabilities with the ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization.
- Effective written and verbal communication, including explaining technical issues in simple terms.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and experience with issue tracking and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of problem management tools and good all-round technical skills.
- Ability to share information effectively with support and technology teams.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Skills
- Hadoop/Big Data Platform: Working knowledge of Cloudera distribution components like HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, YARN, Sentry, Oozie, and Kafka. Experience in analyzing bottlenecks, performance tuning, resource usage, capacity planning, and daily performance monitoring.
- Linux: 5-8 years of experience.
- Database: Good SQL experience in any RDBMS.
- Scheduler: Autosys, CONTROL-M, or other schedulers (advantageous).
- Programming Languages: UNIX shell scripting, Python, or PERL (advantageous).
- Microsoft: Strong knowledge of Microsoft-based operating systems and experience troubleshooting Office applications (Word, Excel).
- Additional Skills (preferable): Knowledge or experience with ITRS Active Console or other monitoring tools, Autosys, or similar schedulers.
Pay
$96,400.00 - $144,600.00 annually. In addition to salary, eligible employees may receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
