Applications Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Team Management: Supervise and manage the daily activities of application engineers, ensuring they meet customer technical needs and project deadlines.
• Project Oversight: Lead the design and development of applications, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Technical Support: Develop and implement technical support procedures and manuals, and provide input on product enhancements and development.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and engineering, to align product offerings with customer requirements.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all engineering processes adhere to quality standards and best practices, including participation in ISO certification processes if applicable.
• Manage the Q Product development lifecycle for rapid evolutionary and revolutionary development;
• Must be able to analyze business requirements to coordinate the development and maintenance of applications;
• Must exhibit a strong desire to increase technical knowledge and experience;
• Committed to developing a world class portfolio of Wheelchair securements;
• Must demonstrate ability to resolve issues quickly and creatively;
• Lead and participate in application development discussions, recommend design choices and execute projects balancing strategic and tactical goals;
• Manage the QLK and NEMT securement bracket development process;
• Mentor and grow a team of application engineers and help accelerate customer first and data driven culture;
• Must be able to quickly learn and support new technologies;
• Work closely with the Product Manager and R&D during the development, feedback and testing;
• Must be able to operate comfortably in both technical and business process situations and collaborate with Executive Team on project prioritization;
• Work with the Engineering R&D team to ensure secure, scalable and responsive securement applications.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Educational Background: Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, with at least 1-3 years in a supervisory role.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management, and a keen understanding of mechanical and electromechanical safety systems.
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to project management.
