About the role

The Applications Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of engineers to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and quality assurance engineers to ensure that software meets business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for software products.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to team members to improve code quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  • Identify and address technical issues, providing solutions and support to the development team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering or a related field.
  • Proven track record of managing and mentoring a team of software engineers.
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and software architecture principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Experience with software testing tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
