Applications Engineer-Machine Tool

About the role

The Applications Engineer provides solution-oriented technical and commercial support to customers. Primary responsibilities include installation and training of Renishaw machine tool products at customer facilities.

Responsibilities

• Installation of Renishaw Machine Tool Products on CNC machines
• Develop hardware/software solutions based on customer requirements
• Generate and install software for Renishaw products
• Conduct training on Renishaw Machine Tool Products at customer sites
• Conduct product training for Renishaw staff
• Provide technical support for sales and marketing
• Work closely with UK product development team
• Aid in the introduction of new products
• Setup and attend trade shows

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Engineer Technology, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
• Electrical skills (understanding of schematics/relays/wiring/PLC)
• Experience with the operation of CNC machine tools
• Experience with CNC programming (G/M code)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies

• Comfortable operating and programming CNC equipment and working in a manufacturing environment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude (including experience with use of power and hand tools/cable routing/assembly)
• Ability to comprehend and produce technical documentation and presentations
• Understanding of engineering drawings and measurement principles (including GD&T)
• Microsoft product knowledge
• Information Technology knowledge
• Be organized and capable of scheduling work, setting priorities, and coordinating with customers
• Interpersonal skills
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Conflict-management skills

Pay

Compensation Range (Annual): $70,000 to $80,000 (depending on level and location)

Schedule

Extensive travel throughout the U.S. and occasional international travel
