  • Act as the first user of a machine, providing Voice of Customer feedback and experienced user support for design of production procedures and operator training.
  • Conduct end-user applications engineering on CNC metal cutting machines to satisfy customer needs via programming, training or customization.
  • Read and interpret specifications and plan drawings; confirm suitability of intended application; and correctly apply applicable industry standards.
  • Implement the use of new technologies, cost-saving techniques/materials, and improved safety features on equipment designs.
  • Visualize layouts and designs and present iterations to the customer and Engineering.
  • Read, prepare, and understand all engineering documentation used by the company.
  • Aid in the development and continual improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Maintain an attainable schedule for projects (commissioning, production, support) that fits the customer's timeframe and satisfaction.
  • Direct customer technical support for process and machine issues during and after implementation.
  • Interface with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and outside firms to fulfill requirements.
  • Communicate with customers.
  • Communicate with suppliers on pricing, delivery, and technical information.
  • Communicate issues to management, sales, purchasing, and manufacturing.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Project Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of increasingly responsible engineering experience in a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes, machine tools, tolerancing, and automation.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, lubrication, and fabrications.
  • Fully capable of sophisticated analysis across multiple mechanical engineering disciplines.
  • Disciplined and goal-oriented, with creativity to develop and implement new ideas and approaches to designs and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and transition between projects with minimal re-orientation.
  • Ability to work effectively under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work within schedules and budgets without sacrificing quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Consistent travel (domestic and international) is required to install, troubleshoot and operate machines.
  • Multi-week travel will be required occasionally to support a customer installation or machine production schedule.
  • Anticipated travel is approximately 1 week per month with 2-4 multi-week trips per year.
