About the role

Shure offers a challenging, fun, and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.

The Application Software Development Intern will work on Audio Engine component and use C++ language, JUCE and VST Plugins frameworks. This Internship is Hybrid from our Niles, IL office.

Responsibilities

  • Learning the codebase and improving coding skills
  • Research and develop VST Plugin hosting capabilities in the application
  • Integrate DSP PlugIns with existing electron application
  • Develop unit tests for produced code and document software design
  • To use Visual Studio and xCode to develop c++ code
  • Address code review feedback
  • To use BitBucket to commit developed code
  • Attend project team meetings with MiDAs team members as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, with a minimum of two years of engineering coursework
  • Working knowledge of xCode, MS Visual Studio, Git, Bitbucket
  • Knowledge of coding languages such as C++, Angular (is a plus), Typescript
  • JUCE and Electron frameworks experience is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly
  • Keen willingness to learn new concepts and skills

Pay

Each internship has an hourly rate which varies from $23-$43 per hour based on job function (Engineering, IT, Business, etc) and year completed in school (Junior, Masters 2nd year, PHD, etc).
