About the role
Under the supervision of an Engineering Manager and Mentor, the Application Software Engineer Intern assists with developing and testing platform independent (Windows, Mac, Linux) middleware solutions that controls and manages cutting edge audio products and networking technologies. This internship will be Remote or Hybrid, based in Niles, IL.
Responsibilities
- Implement business logic for operating system independent application software that controls and manages audio products and digital signal processing software
- Prototype application software using technologies such as Typescript, Angular, NodeJS, C++
- Focused on designing, creating, and testing high quality code
- Estimates, organizes, and documents tasks under supervision of mentors
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- In-process of a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Software Engineering or related field, with a minimum of two years of engineering coursework
- Possess an understanding of key software design principles such as separation of concerns, high cohesion, and low coupling to facilitate reuse and maintainability in software architectures, designs and implementations; ability to decompose large, complex software systems into manageable subsystems with clearly defined interfaces
- Development experience Javascript/Typescript is a plus
- Development experience with C++ is a plus
- Development experience with Angular is a plus
- Familiar with writing unit tests to ensure high quality code
- Able to apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
- Able to follow standard instructions, practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data

Pay
Each internship has an hourly rate which varies from $23-$43 per hour based on job function (Engineering, IT, Business, etc) and year completed in school (Junior, Masters 2nd year, PHD, etc).
