Application Processing Analyst (Hybrid Option)

About this Role

The Provider Enrollment Division is responsible for the Screening, Enrollment, Monitoring, and Recertification of Medi-Cal providers. Under the supervision of the Supervisor I, the Application Processing Analyst will perform research, analysis, and evaluation of provider applications for enrollment into the Medi-Cal Program. These functions include:

  • Reviewing and processing provider applications
  • Preparing correspondence to providers and stakeholders
  • Working within the online PAVE Portal enrollment system
  • Working with state and federal statutes and regulations as well as pending legislation
  • Maintaining and reviewing information on multiple internal databases

It is currently funded to June 30, 2027. This classification was previously known as the Staff Services Analyst classification and is now referred to as the Analyst I classification, effective January 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Perform research, analysis, and evaluation of provider applications for enrollment into the Medi-Cal Program
  • Review and process provider applications
  • Prepare correspondence to providers and stakeholders
  • Work within the online PAVE Portal enrollment system
  • Apply state and federal statutes, regulations, and pending legislation
  • Maintain and review information on multiple internal databases

Requirements

See the Class Specification for minimum requirements. The role requires:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, including MS Excel
  • Knowledge of the Medi-Cal Program or healthcare organizations (desirable)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Good time management and multitasking skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to follow applicable procedures, policies, and statutes
  • Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality

Working Conditions

This position is located in West Sacramento, Yolo County. The office is a campus-style environment offering free parking, proximity to freeways, a shopping center, and several dining options. The role is hybrid-eligible, with telework availability at the discretion of the Department and subject to change. Telework is available to California residents only, and proof of residency may be required. Business travel may be necessary, with reimbursement subject to regulations. Commute expenses to the reporting location (840 Stillwater Rd, West Sacramento, CA 95605) are the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the temporary Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025), which includes a temporary salary reduction in exchange for PLP 2025 leave credits. The salary ranges below do not include this reduction.

Pay

  • Range A: $3,861.00 - $4,839.00 per month (new to state candidates hired at minimum)
  • Range B: $4,181.00 - $5,233.00 per month
  • Range C: $5,014.00 - $6,276.00 per month
