Application Developer Sr.

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Backend Application Developer to join our team on a 13-month contractual, onsite assignment in Taylor, TX (76574).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications and APIs using Java and Liquibase.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to ensure optimal functionality and user experience.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following test-driven development (TDD) methodologies.
• Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance.
• Break down larger tasks into sub-tasks for accurate estimates and planning.
• Refine user stories to proper acceptance criteria within Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Develop and deploy codebase with a strong understanding of web security principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in excess of degree requirements.

Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java and Liquibase.
• Proficient in Azure with knowledge of services (e.g., DataBricks, Parquet file structure).
• Knowledge of SQL databases, particularly Oracle SQL.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Proficient in JUnit for unit testing.
• Familiarity with Apache Tomcat server.
• Knowledgeable in Git version control systems.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
