Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- System Design & Implementation: Design, code, test, and document complex technical projects, ensuring high-quality, customer-facing software development across the database to presentation tiers.
- Cloud Integration: Provision and manage AWS core services (S3, Lambda, Secrets Manager, CloudFront, RDS) and integrate existing on-premises solutions with new cloud infrastructure.
- CI/CD Optimization: Implement and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (Jenkins, Github Actions, Octopus Deploy) to automate software build, test, and deployment processes.
- Technical Leadership: Lead technical discussions to influence decisions across multiple squads, mentor junior team members, and partner closely with product owners to ensure secure and efficient project delivery.
- AI-Assisted Development: Leverage LLM-based coding assistants (e.g., Cursor) to improve development velocity, code quality, and design exploration.
- Operational Support: Partner with DevOps and internal technical teams to troubleshoot build/deployment issues, resolve complex customer problems, and maintain existing systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a similar Sr. Application Developer role with a strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile/Kanban methodologies.
- Core Development Expertise: Strong proficiency in Java and TypeScript (Node.js), including experience with ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate), REST-APIs, and Data Modeling.
- Cloud Proficiency: Deep experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, including provisioning and application development across core services.
- Database Knowledge: Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- Leadership & Communication: Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects, mentor others, and translate complex technical subject matter to non-technical audiences.
- Modern Practices: Experience with Git-based branching/release models and automation.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with LLM development tools (e.g., Cursor) and modern software delivery practices.
