About the role

Engineer and maintain the VMware-based virtualization platform layer within the Internal Cloud HCI stack. Support lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, and performance validation to ensure stability and resiliency. Collaborate with automation and platform teams to deliver consistent virtualization capabilities aligned with enterprise standards. Ensure the virtualization layer meets enterprise requirements for availability, performance, and operability. Develop and uphold operational standards, configurations, and patterns for virtualization within the internal cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and maintain VMware-based virtualization platforms in an enterprise HCI environment.
• Perform lifecycle activities: upgrades, patching, and performance validation.
• Collaborate with automation and platform teams to align virtualization capabilities with enterprise standards.
• Ensure virtualization layer meets availability, performance, and operability requirements.
• Develop and maintain operational standards, configurations, and patterns for virtualization.

Requirements

• 4-5 years of experience engineering or operating enterprise virtualization platforms in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Linux workloads and infrastructure troubleshooting in virtualized environments.
• Familiarity with VMware virtualization concepts and hyperconverged infrastructure fundamentals (compute/virtualization/storage interaction).
• Experience supporting virtualization lifecycle activities such as upgrades, patching, and performance troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of virtualization platform support and automation integration.
