Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and drive the enterprise monitoring strategy aligned to business information flows and systems architecture.
- Roll out strategic monitoring tools across Banking Application Production Support (APS) applications and ensure adoption.
- Serve as SME for monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace, Tivoli, Splunk, Sitescope, and Catchpoint.
- Design and implement monitoring for applications deployed on cloud and container infrastructures.
- Consult with APS teams to configure events, dashboards, and alerts to maximize tool value and operational outcomes.
- Host demos, overviews, and training sessions; develop supporting materials including presentations and operational manuals.
- Liaise with APS for planning and scheduling deployments of monitoring capabilities.
- Prepare reporting on monitoring adoption, coverage, and related performance and availability metrics.
- Participate in global forums to evolve and standardize the monitoring strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of development or architecture experience with multi-tier business applications.
- 5+ years in production systems architecture and/or application support roles.
- Hands-on expertise with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Tivoli, Splunk, Sitescope, and Catchpoint.
- Experience implementing monitoring on cloud and container platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Unix operating systems, scripting, and infrastructure services.
- Proficiency in Java and/or .NET for understanding application behavior and instrumentation needs.
- Proven background in application and network performance and availability monitoring.
- Understanding of ITIL functions and processes.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to influence across multiple levels.
Qualifications
- Experience in major incident management within large enterprise environments.
- Background in development and/or support of banking applications.
- Able to connect business context to technical solutions and roadmaps.
Skills
- Experience with major monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Tivoli, Splunk, Sitescope, and Catchpoint.
- Experience with cloud and container platforms.
- Knowledge of Windows and Unix operating systems, scripting, and infrastructure services.
- Proficiency in Java and/or .NET.
