Appliance Technical Quality Rework Lead

Position requires W2 employment with Donatech. US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.

About the Role

Act as a working lead supervisor to implement product quality enhancements in a warehouse environment. Occasional out-of-town/overnight travel is required, including ride-alongs on service calls to observe issues firsthand at consumer installations with Factory Service personnel.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and/or install appliance product upgrades or enhancements in domestic RDC (warehouse) environments.
• Work alongside client or supplier contractors and local temporary labor.
• Conduct customer home visits with service providers to document pain points.
• Shadow service providers, gather photos/videos/failed parts, and record notes in a Google Form.
• Collect data to help client plants and engineers identify root causes of product issues.
• Perform rework tasks such as:
  • Inspecting condenser fan operation on refrigerators and replacing if necessary.
  • Installing upgraded software via programmer or OTA.
  • Inspecting and replacing glass door pack adhesive on ranges.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field or 5+ years of experience as an Appliance Service Technician.
• 5+ years of Industrial, Automotive, or Appliance Manufacturing Quality experience.
• Familiarity with hand tools (e.g., drills, powered and non-powered tools).
• Experience with computers, test equipment, and test/inspection SOPs.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software and peripheral computer equipment.
• Must be able to travel occasionally, including overnight stays at regional client warehouses.

Working Conditions

• Typical working hours: 6 AM – 4 PM in a warehouse (RDC) environment.
• Ambient temperature conditions in the warehouse.
• Interaction with service providers, client customers, and engineering teams.
• Engineering provides rework instructions, parts, and specialty tools.
• Warehouse supplies repacking materials, material movers, and inventory.
• Travel time (to/from city destinations) is paid, starting when you leave your residence.
• All travel-related expenses (food, hotel, car) are reimbursed if charged to a personal card.
• Travel is typically booked through BCD (fully reimbursed if ghost card is unavailable).

• Work hours vary week-to-week.
• Computer, email address, and system user ID are provided.
• Usually work with partners, though travel may be separate.
