Appliance Technical Quality Rework Lead

This position requires the candidate to be a W2 employee of Donatech. US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.

About the Role

Perform duties as a working lead supervisor to implement product quality enhancements in a warehouse environment. Occasional travel (out-of-town/overnight) is required, including service call ride-alongs to observe issues firsthand at consumer installations accompanied by Factory Service personnel.

Responsibilities

• Inspection and/or installation of appliance product upgrades/enhancements in a domestic RDC (warehouse) environment.
• Work with client or supplier contractors and/or local temp labor.
• Conduct customer home visits with service providers to document pain points.
• Shadow service providers, gather photos/videos/failed parts, and record notes in a Google Form.
• Collect data to help client plants/engineers understand root causes of product issues.
• Perform rework tasks such as:
  • Inspecting and replacing condenser fans on refrigerators.
  • Installing upgraded software via programmer or OTA.
  • Inspecting and replacing glass door pack adhesive on ranges.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field or 5+ years of experience as an Appliance Service Technician.
• 5+ years of Industrial/Automotive/Appliance Manufacturing Quality experience.
• Familiarity with hand tools (drills, powered/non-powered tools), computers, and test equipment.
• Experience with test and inspection SOPs/instructions.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software and peripheral computer equipment.

Working Conditions

• Ambient temperature in a warehouse (RDC) environment.
• Typical working hours: 6 AM – 4 PM.
• Interaction with service providers and client customers.
• Engineering provides rework instructions, parts, and specialty tools.
• Warehouse provides repacking materials, material movers, and inventory setup.

Travel & Logistics

• Travel time (to/from city destinations) is paid, starting when you leave your home.
• Possible occasional overnight travel to regional client warehouses.
• Travel booked through BCD (fully reimbursed if ghost card is unavailable).
• All food, hotel, and car expenses are reimbursed if charged to a personal card.
• Hours worked vary week-to-week.
