About the role

Responsible for ordering, stocking merchandise and maintaining the assigned section of the apparel department, including fixtures, displays, and signing. You will train, coach, and direct Apparel Clerks, perform production and customer service functions, and work to maximize store sales and profits while demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Stock displays, maintain divisional signing, recovery, and merchandising standards
  • Adhere to ticketing standards, corporate policies, planograms, and composites
  • Set ads to standard, process returns/exchanges, price changes, and mismates
  • Control shrink and coordinate/organize merchandising of the section
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships
  • Receive and process freight, perform inventory control functions, and conduct stock counts
  • Build ends and displays, maintain awareness of market trends, and react to sales opportunities
  • Sell products to customers and demonstrate selling skills
  • Perform cashier functions and maintain awareness of overstock/understock conditions
  • Respond to customer comments/complaints and assist in the inventory process
  • Write Intersection Transfers and manage P&L responsibilities and seasonal sets
  • Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly and handle stressful situations calmly
  • Skills for effective production, merchandising, and customer service related to merchandise sales
  • Qualified to operate power machinery and work with various job tools
  • Able to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

  • Related retail work experience
  • Familiarity with apparel sales terms and processes
  • Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity
