Responsibilities
- Order, stock merchandise and maintain assigned section
- Maintain fixtures, displays, and signing
- Train, coach, and direct Apparel Clerks
- Perform production and customer service functions
- Maximize store sales and profits
Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- Willing to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly
- Tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations
- Able to operate power machinery and use various job tools
- Related retail work experience preferred
- Familiarity with apparel sales terms and processes
- Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity
- Stock displays, divisional signing, recovery, merchandising standards, ticketing standards, corporate policies, planograms and composites, set ads to standard, process returns/exchanges, price changes, process mismates, and shrink control
- Coordination and organization of merchandising
- Build and maintain vendor relationships
- Receive and process freight
- Perform inventory control functions
- Conduct stock counts
- Build ends and displays
- Maintain awareness of current market trends
- React to changing sales opportunities with urgency
- Sell products to customers; teach/demonstrate selling skills
- Perform cashier functions
- Maintain awareness of overstock/understock conditions
- Respond to customer comments/complaints
- Assist in the inventory process
- Write intersection transfers
- Manage P & L responsibilities, seasonal sets
- Supervise and coach direct reports in performance
- Complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
Qualifications
- Proven ability to make intelligent decisions quickly
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to operate power machinery and use various job tools
- Previous retail experience
- Familiarity with apparel sales terms and processes
- Dependable past work record
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
