APP I- Clinic PRN (Hourly)

Summary

Aids the physician in patient care and education.

  • Assesses physical and psychosocial patient status through interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies.
  • Writes prescriptions for medications, blood products, based on lab results, diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and post-discharge care, following established protocols.
  • Determines patient eligibility for clinical trial entry.
  • Interprets and evaluates study/test findings and communicates patient care information to collaborating physicians.
  • Administers therapeutic measures/specimens as prescribed.
  • Drafts follow-up letters to referring physicians summarizing treatment, response, and plans.
  • Drafts or writes patient history, admission, progress, and discharge notes promptly.
  • Supports family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic patient care phases.
  • Participates in daily multidisciplinary rounds to ensure appropriate and high-quality patient care.
  • Triage patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation.
  • Documents and reports care accurately and promptly using appropriate forms and records.
  • Show willingness to learn and adapt to the evolving healthcare environment.
  • Assists staff during crises or emergencies.
  • Engages with the public to market and promote cancer treatment.
  • Determine work priorities, assign tasks, and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
  • Comply with federal and state laws and regulations regarding patient privacy, rights, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment law.
  • Adhere to FCS and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and procedures and Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Maintain work area and records in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Maintain and ensure confidentiality of all patient and employee information as required by HIPAA regulations.
  • Train new employees on related job duties.
  • Work at any FCS location as directed by the collaborating physician.
  • Work overtime as required.

The position involves assisting physicians in patient care and education, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, master's degree in nursing, or post-masters nurse practitioner certificate program.
  • 0-3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Current license/registration to practice in the state of Florida, with prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply.
  • Certification from AANP, ANCC, or ONCC.
  • BLS certified.
